The cloud point of nonionic surfactant increases with the addition of ionic surfactant. The lower the concentration of nonionic surfactant, the higher the charge density of the mixture, the greater the repulsion force between micelles and the higher the cloud point. At the same concentration of nonionic surfactant, when the concentration of ionic surfactant increases, the cloud point also increases. This is also due to the increase of charge density on the surface of micelles. Therefore, the charge density of the mixed micelles formed by nonionic surfactant and ionic surfactant determines the cloud point. The higher the charge density, the higher the cloud point.

Nonionic surfactant has strong hygroscopicity and can be used in the low moisture condition of fiber. Generally, they have no effect on dye dyeing performance, and can adjust viscosity in a wide range. They are widely used because of their small toxicity and skin irritation. The main types of non-ionic antistatic agents are fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether and fatty acid polyethylene glycol ester.

Some anionic surfactants, such as sodium alkylsulfonate and sodium sulfate of higher fatty alcohol, can be used as levelling agents for natural fibers and nylon fibers. Non-ionic surfactants such as high-grade fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether are mainly used in vat dyeing, disperse dyeing and direct dyeing. Su Xichun and others found that sodium octadecylamine polyoxyethylene ether sulfate can significantly improve the levelness and wettability of weak acid brilliant blue raw on wool. The higher the concentration, the better the levelness. At present, the levelling agent with better levelling effect is the compound system of various anionic surfactants, or the compound system of anionic and non-ionic surfactants.

General cationic surfactants are not only antistatic agents with high efficiency, but also have excellent smoothness, softness and fiber adhesion. Its disadvantage is that it can change the color of dye, reduce the fastness to light, can not be used with anionic surfactant, corrode metal, has strong toxicity, has irritation to skin, etc., so its use is limited, rarely used in oil agent, but mainly used in fabric finishing. The cationic surfactants used as antistatic agents are mainly quaternary ammonium compounds and fatty acid amides. Betaine type amphoteric surfactant not only has good antistatic effect, but also has the function of lubrication, emulsification and dispersion.
