Alkyl glucoside has low surface tension, no cloud point, adjustable HLB value, strong humid power, strong detergency, rich foam, fine compatibility, non-toxic, harmless, no irritation to skin, rapid and complete biodegradation, and can be combined with any type of surfactant, synergistic effect is obvious. It has strong broad-spectrum antibacterial activity, thickening effect is obvious, easy to dilute, no gel phenomenon, easy to use. Moreover, it is resistant to strong alkali, strong acid, hard water and salt.

It can be used as the main raw materials of daily chemical products such as shampoo, shower gel, facial cleanser, washing liquid, hand washing liquid, tableware washing liquid, vegetable and fruit detergent, etc. It is also used in soap powder, phosphate free detergent, phosphate free washing powder and other synthetic detergents. It can be used as emulsifier and dispersant of food, pesticide and silicone oil, synergist of pesticide and herbicide, antifogging agent of agricultural film, plastic additive, medicine, bioengineering, industrial cleaning, fire-fighting agent, textile additive, coating, photosensitive material, tanning, oil extraction, mineral processing, rubber and plastic, energy and other fields.

APG has advantages in product safety (no toxic by-product dioxane), mildness and antibacterial properties. In line with the future development direction of personal care products, APG will replace the existing petroleum based surfactants and become the mainstream surfactants.

APG can also be used to prepare solid dispersion and plastic additives. Although APG is a stable compound, various esters and other derivatives (such as ethers) can be further synthesized from the remaining three hydroxyl groups in the sugar group. If APG is connected with carboxylic acid or other acids, various anionic esters of APG can be prepared, such as sulfosuccinate, citrate, tartrate, maleate, sulfate, phosphate, etc.

The first three esters are available in foreign markets. They have good foaming property, compatibility, mild to skin, no irritation to eyes, and do not contain dioxane, ethylene oxide and nitrosamine, so they are very suitable for cosmetics and personal protective products. In addition, APG can also synthesize alkoxylate and quaternary ammonium salt cation SAA.
